5th gear!!

My J plate sri with a few engine mods hates fifth gear i reckon.sitting at slow speeds it slips in piss easy to 5th ever time but when I satrt hammerin it(ie when I need it!!) it never seems to get into 5th,just slips into 3rd with alot of bouncin off the rev limiter.It doesn't bother me that much coz I don't worry bout top speed just wonderin whats with it??

fraz mate my SRi is faster in 4th than 5th. When i put it into 5th gear at high speeds the revs and speed drop. Mingle

u lot must have something wrong with ur gearboxes, coz when my mate puts his sri into 5th it just keeps pulling harder and harder till it reaches the rev limiter!

Mines also better in 5th, though with many cars, you can only achieve maximum speed in 4th, as 5th is an overdrive cruising gear.

Mine carries on pulling in 5th aswell, not sure whats happening with your Sri Mingle, then again, maybe it's because yours is an Sri and mines an SR. Who knows???

Yep the SR has a lower final ratio than the SRi.

Plese don't let busses pull out.
