Right ive just painted me car as i put sideskirts on and got rid of a few scratchs. Anyway sanded it all down until i was happy with it and then primered it, and then sanded that down.By this point it was some smooooooooth sh*t. Painted it a couple of days later and out of nowhere came loads of sand paper marks that the primer had hidden:cry:. Anybody else had this problem?

try not blaming the primer. i think you should use high build primer with a plasticiser so it doesnt crack when you go round a corner. esp if these skirts are to be fitted as a structural mod

if you can see sanding lines (like fine scratches) the primer has been absorbed and sunk into the surface (usually obviousl on filled or heavily primed areas). Start 240 and go up to 600 min on bare surface, then when primed, go from 600 to 800/1000 min - then paint.

yeh i used a d.a sander and went up 2 600 then primed it, then up to 1000, but the primers sunk into the holes so i couldnt see them until the basecoat was on. Next time will do a dust coat just to make sure.

if your priming body filler make sure you seal it 1st with cellulose putty. This is much finer than filler which is full of micropores. Celly putty skims the surface sealing these making it much better to work on.
