if yer gonna get an engine transplant u might aswell get the 2.0! cos you'll just want more power and eventually end up getting a 2.0! :)

2.0l conversions need engine mount modifcations and engine bay seam welding. 1.6 Nova engines are the largest you can go without the above.

I went to nova tech last night asking about 2.0 conversions etc, and the blokey down there was trying to convince me to do a 1600 16v. He said they are so easy to fit, pretty much go straight in and you don't have to change drive shafts or nothing, and they are very tuneable engines. He didn't change my mind, but it is worth considering.

Check out DECLAN BURKE'S nova on the featured cars. I think the engine is from a corsa.

What about a 1.6 16v ecotec? these will go in fairly easy and have huge tuning potential. SBD can squeeze 200bhp plus from these engines on throttle bodies. Of the other options the old 2.0 16 red top is the best option, with the parts available these go in with some fairly major mods and a lot of cash ?800-?1500 you will need engine mounts, shafts, strenghtening kit(welding), 2.0 16v front brakes, sterngthened track arms, exhaust manifold plus some other bits. The turbo will go in but it's not easy at all apparently.

Plese don't let busses pull out.

my mates driven a 1.6 16v with about 150 brake,he says it was shit, and i wont argue with him as he knows what he is talkin about.

im currently puttin in a 1.8 8v,from personal experience i reckon the 8v are better then 16vs as they have their power & torque alot lower in the rev range,i would of prefered a 2.0 8v,but igot mine cheap :).
the fastest nova ive ever driven is a 2.0 8v no doupt about.

Bit baised on this one for the fun factor it has to be the 2.0 16 valve. I've got a 2.0 xe in my sr and it goes well.
The turbo lumps produce a lot of heat(not good in a small engine bay) and I've been told don't drive as well as the normally aspirated lumps.
