courtney crank pulley at TDC?

i,ve bought and now fitted the courtney single v crankshaft pulley for a c20xe. but have just noticed that there are no markings for tdc on it. how do i know when i am at this point? is there a way of telling without having to strip of the head and looking???( bearing in mind that there are no cams fitted as yet)
has anyone else had to overcome this??

ok. so how will i know if it is in its half revolution or full revolution?

just use the mark on the crank pulley(the one the timing belt goes round). theres a notch on that and one on the oil pump. match them up and you have your tdc
