It's just a wannabe valver. Expensive insurance and not all that quick.

Get yourself a valver instead!

I was thinking about one of the 16v ones but I have been told that you have to rev the hell out of them to make them go and then when you do they blow up!

They had the 16v engines in the renault 19 and I know of loads of people that had trouble with them

if you get a valver watch out for the head gasket - expensive job as you have to replace the sleeves in the engine too

at the end of the day its french - nuff said

Cheers for the replys guys, I havent heard good things about the valvers and you lot have confirmed it.

As for the 8v's they are supposed to be better and I am considering getting one although

I am also drawn toward saving hard until christmas and buying myself a starlet gt turbo as a pressy!:D

You won't regret the Starlet, the possibility of 300+ bhp from a 1.3 can't be bad :D

a friend of mine had the 16v Clio and the gearbox went after a few months of hard driving and ive never really been impressed by the RSi 8vs to be honest

definately a case like the mk2 golf, the 8v is much better than the valver, like chris said, watch the electrickery, and the gearboxes are made of chocolate, but theyre made of tin foil so theyre light and go like stink. Im no fan of french cars but you cant say theyre not fun to drive. Just carry a dustpan and brush to collect the bits that fall off lol

^^^ I know what ya mean lol, I had an AX GT and was a very nippy car for a 1400 but at anything over 80 it felt like the dash was gonna unscrew itself lol
