i am thinking about doing a conversion from a 1.2 carb model to a 1400 sr engine. What all do i need to change or modify?Any other advice/help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Both are carbed, I'd fit your 1.2 or a 1.3 head to the 1.4 though, and swap the gearbox for an F13CR personally. Incidentally, I'm in the process of stripping down a 1.2 head and 1.4 bottom end, which when back together will mate to an F13CR :D.
Make sure you have sr dizzy, coil, mini loom.

yes i will do. What about boxes or linkages becuase the nova i have is a 4 speed but the sr will be 5 speed. Will it not matter? Also my nova has a choke so do i need this for the sr or will it go onto the sr engine??
Sr uses autochoke, so you will also need another small coolant hose and a t-piece for it.
You wont need your choke cable then.
All linkages are the same.
SR has got an auto choke that works on water temp. Tbh, ive just put an SR engine into a 1.0 spin shell, piece of pish. Once youve got the coil pack and mini loom, rad and possibly fan or at least the fan elec plug at a minimum (as rad plug differs on lower CC novas :thumb:) your pretty much there. When you get an SR engine, if its with the box, the linkage should still be on it.
Ive got a spare SR gear linkage if you do need one though?
so you will also need another small coolant hose and a t-piece for it.
You wont need your choke cable then.
Nick one from a scrapped SR :thumb: just behind/under the carb/inlet manifold :thumb:

just out of interest, i am looking at the haynes max power book on novas and it says i can get a Webber 32/34 from a 1.5 and 1.6 Fiat Strada/Regata or a Land Rover 90 and 110 so does that mean the carbs fit straight on with a inlet maniflod to suit?
No, you have to get a metal adaptor plate.
Tried reply to your pm dude, but your inbox is full ;)
