i have just brought myselg a j-reg 1.4 sr but i haven't passed my test yet and i was just woundering which will be quicker out of my 1.4sr whihc has just got a straight through peco exhaust and my mates 1.3sr which has just got a back box on

depends on the mileage, state of the exhaust baffles, how goo the engine is, have they been tuned etc

both are standard apart from mine has got a straight through exhaust on nearly new and his has got just a back box on. Mine has done 67,000 and his is knocking on 85,000

Its hard to say with out knowing the cars. Either one could b
a "fast one", or either could b below standard. It depends.

On paper, the 1.4 , but inless they are timed properly then it is all guess work.

Work it out mate, both same weight, using same carb and same weight block, but one has larger capacity! Silly question me thinks. If both are set up in ideal circumstances the 1.4 will be quicker. If you`ve got a straight through exhaust, and your m8 has only got a back box, as long as your car is runnin right, you will be quicker. (as long as ya 5spokes aint nothing silly like 18") lol! :D

nout wrong with a peco i have one and a old weber filter (same as K&N Bolt on) and my 1.2 is running 67bhp thats 7 over standard!!

Hey rob thats actually 12 over std as the 1.2 carbs have 55 brake as standard! :D

And the 1.2 injection only has 45PS as standard he he he!

That's the same as the old 1.0 OHV!
