What is the best way 2 go about changing the
the clutch in my 1.4sr? Is it easy to do without
dropping the gearbox?

As far as I know its a fairly simple Haynes Manual job...the biggest prob is when you have to slide the input shaft out to lower the clutch. There's an access panel at the end of the gearbox to do that..oh and the clutch comes out of a cover plate at the bottom of the casing, hope this helps.

you take the cover off the end of the box, then you an internal circlip out and get an M8 threadded bolt and screw it into the clutch shaft and PULL it out. then you get under the car and get the clutch cover off and get someone to press the clutch peddle down so you can put clips on the clutch as shown in haynes. you then unbolt the (10mm??) bolts from round the clutch and she should just drop out. Change the thrust bearing too!!!

Clutch cable will screw into the clutch shaft so you can get 3 peeps hanging on it :D
