how difficult is it to change the clutch on a nova? ive noticed that theres a plate to be removed so it doesnt look like i have to split the box.
is it a long job?

Plate off.
Remove end plate/plug from box
Remove input shaft from box
Press clutch pedal and get someone to fit 3 small metal clamps to clamp the plate
Undo the 6 bolts holding it to the flywheel.
Slide the assembly out the hole.

Change release bearing

Fit the 3 clamps to the new clutch, fit it up through the hole
Fit the 6 bolts back in.
Remove the clamps
Refit input shaft making sure its going through the driven plate hub correctly
Adjust clutch cable.

Pretty much,Lol.

Haynes gives a good guide.

Its the shaft that goes through the box and into the clutch plate hub.
Transfers the clutch rotation to the box.

They can be a right bas**rd to remove, need a M7 thread(which you never see anywhere)
a clutch cable end has the same thread :thumb:

Get some mates pulling on the end of a old clutch cable.

M7 bolt just happens to be the thread of the bolts holding on the gearbox selector turret. i couldnt get mine to come out to i welded a spare m7 bolt to a long rod with a flat plate on the end of it. then i got an old brake disc and used that as a slide hammer, came out first time

you will need to remove the circlip then the splined screw cap in the end of the input shaft before you can get the m7 bolt into it - you'll see when you open the casing up.

simlar process for the F10 (with the hole in the end)

the 3 clips "should" come in the clutch kit you buy.

to be fair you dont explicitly need the clips. they just make refitting easier.

these fit over the clutch cover and hold it compressed so it fits down through the inspetion hatch
