has anyone ever tried making their own rear strut brace? one of the welders i work with is s**t hot and says he can weld me up one using box steel. i have a rough idea of what dimensions and how i want it to be made, just wondered if anyone had tried? pics would be great :)
weld in inch tube across the damer housing, job done.

i was going to used inch box section steel 975mm long with a 55mm long plat on each end to drill a hole through to mount to the damper mount bolt.
If your gonna make one, make it so it attatches to the actual body of the car and not the top of the shocks.

i'm kind of messy, i love my car but it does get abused... i'm going to have to cut the bott carpet away from the rear seats to clean it tho.

Why cant you unclip the carpet from the seat backs & avoid cutting it?
Nice brace btw!
shame its pointless, holding the rear damper bolts, wont do **** all, due to them being on rubbers

i drilled the holes 2mm further out on each one to reduce all movement... i cant get a single bit of movement from it, not a squeek. i know what you saying with regrads drilling one to the body, but the tickness of the housing is thinner and will flex more than it will on the struts.
yep welded mine in,
works great, could feel it even on flat roads,

Foook, how shiney is your boot floor :eek: lol
ive got 1 that bolts to the strut tops but im going to get one that welds in after speaking to a few people and hearing thoughts on the subject
I used to have a strut top one, i removed it tho as it made a banging noise when going over bumps etc.
i didn't make this one ,but it was cheap from supernovas and it fixes to the rear turretts.
