right then....

can i get away with only taking off the wheel by the gearbox or do i have to take both front ones off (so i can pop out driveshafts?)

any advice for a quick box change....?

cheers

John

p.s. i've got both haynes manuals (workshop and service repair) and i've done a engine/box change b4, i just wanted to know which bits i can skip!

Both wheels tbh chap. You need to release both shafts & the other side will atleast need the bottom ball joint popped which is a wheel off job again.

No, just take both wheels off you lazy get! Get it up on axle stands & do it properly.

for me and two mates, changing a gearbox, driveshafts, clutch, thrust bearing, clutch cable and one steering knuckle and then set up every thing (clutch and gear selector) took us about 3-4 hours. you can do it alot quicker with the right tools tho.
