ive just been to a scrappy. there was only 2 novas there. a mk1 3dr saloon and a mk2 nova van. the saloon was mint but id had been stripped. the van was compleate apart from ignition and glazing

anyway i picked up some parts.

a mk1 grill
1 set of rear lights
full owners handbook
drivers wingmirror
and a passenger rear light.

all parts mint.
and they didnt even charge me.

so im gonna experiment with some parts.

im going to mesh the grill but thats all upto now

anyone have any good ideas for the rear lights? red doesnt go on the blue nova. so im looking for something different
ill get pics up a.s.a.p

Nova Van panels are spot welded in (Well Mine were anyway !!)

I struggled to get them out - even when I'd cut the panel out to get to the spot welds !!!

I had a van and they were welded in. Cant you just use your rear 1/4 windows as templates?

you wont get them out without damaging them - I guarantee it - you'll need to drill out the welds then crack them off the frames from the sealer.

No chance of them not buckling. May as well get some sheet steel from B&Q and cut them out.

As for rear lights I'm modding mine at the moment but they way the lights are designed theres limited scope for development. I'm actually only using the casings so i can take a mould for my new lights (just so I know theyre the right size). You cant take them apart that easily either - the lenses always shetter and are heat bonded to the casings.

Also - messing with the lenses may make them not road legal - need to have the e mark displayed. The ones I'm making use landrover lenses that are individually e marked.

Nice little arrangement you've got there.
Keep your eyes out for things people might need and you may be able to make a little money.
