Another techie question, Heres the scenario.
A mk2 gsi (90), and a 2.0l 16v Cavalier MK1 (G) engine, box and loom.

Has anyone fitted a cavalier engine in their nova ??
Did you/do you have to modify the rear gearbox mounts ?
I have bought soem modified engine mounts, but do I have to modify the Cavalier ones or do I have to take the mounts off of the nova gsi engine from the gearbox ????

Any help coz Im putting the engine in on saturday and I need to get this sorted ?

cheers

I too am in the process of building a 2litre 16v Nova.

I'm sure that U need to buy a modified rear gearbox mount (from Carquip) and fit this together with the modified drivers side engine mount.

Anyone have any prices on the two mounts?

Carquip does a kit with spacer plates to weld to rear mount and new drivers front mount. Do yourself a favour and buy new rubbers for them and fill the mounts with windscreen bonder to stiffen them up as changing them when they are in can be a bit boring.

id recommend competition mounts, without them, the car is prone to missing gearchanges nad these stop engine movement a lot, nova-turbo(rob) could move his engine about with his hand without them.
only downside is it puts vibrations through the car, i'm not bothered, you get used to it, but kev didnt like em i think.
dont use comp mount on gearbox or it is really bad, just the other 2.
