Anyone got proven power gains, after fitting say a 270deg cam?
Thinking of getting one, but dont know if the power gain is worth the cost.
I have a se head, so tis good flowing :)

Any guesses?

You buying new Ad or secondhand? All i can tell you is with my engine spec with 285, my car made 94bhp, but thats not even set up yet so it could change.

I will let you know when its done. Are the GTE ones supposed to be around 270? or am i talking out my **** lol

Nar, Stu said the GTE cam is about 240/250.

I wanted to know what sort of power gain a 270deg cam would add.

The cam is second hand, i dont do new lol

I need decide this week as the engine is going in next weekend, and i dont want to take the head etc back off to fit a performance cam. Hmmm

Lol.

According to the Kent/piper site, a 270deg cam should add 10bhp to a 1.4i injection engine, not bad if thats true.

depends on what other mods youve got are you doing it too your 1.2?

Nar, its on my new 1400, SE head, so good flow, 4branch manifold and 2" bore exhaust, so it should flow quite well.

According to piper tho, thats 10bhp for just the cam alone, on a standard 1.4i engine. Seems quite high tbh.

piper 285 and a 32/34 bolted onto my 1300 gave almost 15bhp up from standard.........

That seems quite good/\
Seeing as the weber wont add too much power, its basically the same as a pierburg but with a manual choke.

Hmm, should i buy it,Lol.
