They will tell you to take it off though won't they, as technically they do impair your vision, as the law states you must be able to see through, and have no cracks in your field of vision.

Some MOT stations realise that you are only going to put them back on, hence they don't worry about it, but some are awkward and tell you to take them off lol

if its in the sweep of the wipers in zone a ( 6inch each side of steering wheel) then it can be bigger than 10mm, anywhere else it cant be bigger than 40mm.
alternatively you could fit smaller wiper blades then its not int he sweep of it at all

Ours has a tint at the top of the screen, never had a problem with it for an MOT, but we've (my parents) been taking cars there since before I was born.

Do you mean a proper factory tint tho?

Over here the LAW states that no sun strip is to be any larger that 75mm. If it is then you can be made to take it off there and then and it is an automatic fail. Also, Piggy ****ers love oulling you for it.

Its not the original windscreen.

That would pass an M.O.T because it is see through. I think if its a solid coulor and over 75mm deep then it will fail.

I can't remember exactly how big my old Opel sunstrip was on my hatch, but it wasn't exactly small. And I had larger wipers which swept right up to the top of the windscreen as well lol

Still, got through two MOTs with it!

75mm is the maximum depth for a solid strip, graduated strips like the pic above can be up to 150mm deep.

I fitted one of the free max power sunstrips which promptly flew off on the way to work.... its a sign that they should never be fitted.

Forgot to mention that was a long time ago.. .and not last week or anything.
