View Full Version : Headbolts, reuse washers?
As above, engine currently has male torx head bolts with washers on.
I've got a new set of male torx headbolts, but they dont have washers with them.
Should i reuse the ones currently fitted to the old bolts?
:)
id reuse them if you cant be ****d to nip to the dealers/call autovaux...
Im not bothered about re-using the washers, i meant should the washers be on?
As the new headbolts look to have washers built into the head.
But so did the old ones...

Use them. I replaced mine with shiny stainless ones once & it ended in tears. Dont ask whybut my mate who is a Vaux dealer mechanic just said 'we wont be doing that again'. They have a degree of compressibility I beleive.
K mate, cheers craig.
I'll reuse the old ones, they must meant to be fitted, as all headbolts seem to have them.

I've allways re-used the old washers, apart from last time when the new bolts came with new washers.
