I have a small problem with my nova xe and hopefully somebody can help or at least point me in the right direction...

The engine is an early xe from a cav Gsi, the problem I'm having is hesistancy in 5th gear.

There was a problem threw out the rev range where it would cough and splutter but this has been sorted *ICV pipe to SFI box wasnt sealing properly*

The engine now pulls great upto about 100 (privately owned test track was used for the testing) above 100 it again seems to cough and splutter.

Has anybody else had the same problem, personally I think there is either a leak in the vac pipe somewhere or poss AFM *AFM problems differ slightly and it isnt drinking that much fuel* I may be totally wrong though.

Anybody got any other Ideas what it could be?

probably got a naffed sensor somewhere or an air leak as its only doing it under fairly high load (5th above 100mph)

yeah it only happens in 5th, I cant imagine it as the engine is under stress throughout the revrange and pulls well, As soon as you do the same in 5th it aint happy.

5th puts more load on the engine than in the other gears...

does it do it when the engine labours in other gears? as in, put it in a lower gear than normal when going up hill? That would put more strain on the engine?

turns out it was the ICV pipe to SFI box. sorted now :D
