Mk 1 or Mk 2 Nova?
have suddenly got a liking for mk1 SR's all of a sudden, i think its probably the fact there arent alot of mk1 novas around here.

Go for whichever you find in the better condition. If you get a mk2 you can always devolve the front end; or if you get a mk1 you can always swap the interior for a mk2 dash etc so either way you end up with best of both worlds.

Mk1's look meaner, less girly and are the bestest nova ever made Pmsl :P

just kidding, Tbh mate it matters non. Get a decent base to work on... Then go which ever way you want with it. Simple Dimple :D

Personally i'd go for a mk 1 SR with a mk 2 dash, which is what i've done. But its your car and upto you.

Im a MK2 man myself, IMO the front looks a lot cleaner and up to date, and i REALLY hate MK1 dash boards, but as said, horses for courses.

Get a picture of both, stick them on the wall and throw a dart at them blindfold. Decision made!

muzzy i went to see it ages ago when it was first forsale. Needed loads of work doing to it, respraying and the engine management light was on all the time.

You aint miss'd out plus he wanted way to much for it.

(It's been for sale for at least 6 months now :) )

I perfer the mk1, just looks more aggro. Whats so bad about the mk1 dash? How much work is it swapping to a mk2 dash?

I never said there was anything wrong with it, i said i hated it lol It just looks all wedgy and angular IMO.

Easy peasy to swap dashes, do a search on the forum and you'll find loads of threads about it!

I have had 2x mk1 novas, prefer them to the mk2's anyway, i also have a mk2 gsi black dash in my 1.3sr, but only cuz when my car got broken into the mk1 dash got wrecked....

Love jamaican yellow ones, was thinkin bout that for my next one!

Had the brown dash in my old 1.2 merit.....

Ive found that with fitting the mk2 dash in my mk1, the main thing is that heater matrix is in the way, but thik weve goit round it now lol
