I removed my rocker cover today as the seal needed changing. Its back on now but the car ticks over like a bag of crap. The revs are all over the place. WHY? Please help

check timing and the vac pipes, also traping a fuel line under the rocker cover wouldn't help!!!

i hate rocker covers!!

could be that you dropped some material in the engine(very small stuff like schrapnel) that ill make it sound shite and eat your engine to death. doubt its that though cause it would do nothing to your revs. could be timing, check belt and disc. also check leads it could be running on three cylinders. my mates nova was doing that sounded like a scooby for couple of mins then went back to his standard nove!
