Isnt a Nova but maybe you can still help ! :)

My Dad bought a Astra Van recently MkIII 1.7 TD, he says that it starts well and runs fine but after it has got to running temperature and you turn it off you cant turn it back on again for about 30mins probably while it cools down i guess ? :wtf:

Could anyone please help ?
Cheers

My little bro is a mechanic for Royal Mail mate.
I'll ask him see what he comes up with.

Does this have the same ECU in it that screws up like the 1.7 diesel Corsa Cs?

doubt it, mk3 vans should be on mechanical injection, no ecu's fitted. If it's turning over but not firing it could be anything from clogged injectors, fuel pump timing or it might just need a fuel filter replacing. It wont need glow pugs if it starts ok when cold, as they're not used when the engine's warm.

Are you sure its a mk3 astravan? Think the mk3 van is powered by the vaux low blow engine, not isuzu in my experience. I never seen an isuzu astravan, apart from one that had been converted. Take mikey14sr's advice and start checking the simple things first that are fuel and air related.

mk4 vans had lowblows fitted to early models, and then isuzu 16v to later models.
