1.4SRi into carb nova - possibly carb conversion

Quick question peeps, ive been offered an Sri minus shell lol and as a result i want to swap my mk2 1200 carb`d lump to the SRi ive got everything to do it just i dont want to swap the looms over as ive already got a cat1 alarm and immob fitted and dont want to mess with its wiring.
Ive been told as im already running a 1400Sr carb and inlet manifold i can just keep these on the SRi block, will it just end up being an SR if i do this or should i just not bother, if its worth doing can i use my 1200 dizzy assembly and coil set up, any help much appreciated cheers

If you can match the inlet manifold to the sri head you can use your 1400 carb. You'll need a 1400 dizzy and coil because the sri camshaft is drilled for the pin-drive type, not the slot-drive that the 1200 uses. It wont just be an sr if you do this, it'll be an sr with an sri head, which means it's as easy as buying the right manifold and cam to fit T40's and say hello to 100bhp.
