View Full Version : Help! Spi to Carb engine conv.coil wiring
I've fitted a 13sr engine into my 1.2spi last night and was swapping the coils over, i traced the yellow and white cables from 1300 coil to the fuse box and lost were they were plugged in. The white one was jointed in fusebox and went back into the loom, i gave it gentle pull and the cable snapped. I don't know now were they go. Can anyone tell me were they go and what they do? Thanks.

Use the 1.2spi coil and distribitor, no need to change the ignition system it works fine on mine

Use the 1300Sr coil and distrubutor, the spi will not advance the timing and will loose you power.
The coil needs three wires, black-12v ignition, green(rev counter), and earth iirc.

Ok long live, but i've got Green(rev counter), Brown(down to chasis), yellow(???) and White(???) on the 1300 loom.
If I try 12v on white or yellow that should power up coil?
No, im not sure what the white/yellow wire is for, i've not seen that around the coil wiring.
Dont connect any 12v up until your sure, dont want blow anything.
As you said long live, the coil needs + and -, brown is - so 1 of them will have to be +12v?
Ye, but it should be a black ignition live wire, not yellow/white.
Got it sorted. Thanks anyways
