I bought a LET engine from a guy on migweb... It turned out to be a right tattie and needed rebuilt from the bottom up... this thread has been going for months on my local cruise site and i cannot be ****d to give ya every photo so this photo was taken in april, the last one was taken tonight... engine is ready for its new shell.

This is how i got it

Block, sump and head were painted after the over haul...

The head has just been placed on the block for photo purposes.

ok, its been a slow process. but finally the head is on and torqued... I had a problem with the no 8 head bolt.. its stripped inside the block... GUTTED!!!
A quick favour later the problem part was fixed and the head is now on... Turbo is bolted on, timing is done so basically im done...
well almost.... got loads of sh*tty jobs to do to tidy it up since my mucky paws have been all over my freshly painted parts... so they will be tidyed along with my newly painted rocker cover.... I really dunno what colour to put it now... im considering chrome along with a bailey chrome header tank.....

nice. I made an offer for that car but decided to buy a new lump for mine.

Good luck with the LET. You probably did yourself a favour having it rebuilt. It amazes me how people will spend a grand+ on an engine with 100k (most are) these days.

Atleast yours should come with a clean bill of health.

Keep us posted & get those mirrors off it!

its a nice shell and i got it for a fair price but im deciding against it..... Im based in inverness..... 200 miles NORTH of glasgow... Thats a 650 mile drive down so il be a FORTUNE on fuel... once i combine both the car, fuel cost, staying over in a hotel, hire of trailer im better off repraying my own shell....

Im gutted but i gotta be half sensible... She's fully rebuilt mate... it should be a minter once the teething problems are fixed.... (you always get them)
