just been looking at stes old shell where they put the front of the nova in the rear,

seeing as they have modded the chasis

would this need an sva test and Q plated before going on the road?

should expect it would need the SVA test but not 100% sure on the Q plating.

woulnt need q plating as it retains enough of the orginal car to remain on its plate..

8 points need to be gained by the retaining any the following:

Chassis/body shell (body and chassis as one unit - monocoque)* (original or new)=5
Suspension=2
Axles=2
Transmission=2
Steering Assembly=2
Engine=1

Under current regs it wouldnt need an SVA, however there rumbling a few years ago that the dvla were gonna clamp down on modified cars to the extent engine changes requiring inspections.

It would make sense to have inspections.
It would go some way to stopping certain "mis-fits" from not declaring their engine size on V5C

exactly, Why so? its still a nova, therefore if your old shell still has MOT on it you can take the plate and transfer it across (dont quote me on that thou) or you take the new Shell's reg.
