oviusly the blurd vision ect on the films isent real /but the good thing about nos is its a cheap mod and is always adjustable such as my kit can progress from 25 hp to 250 hp

cracked on with the engine bay last night and tidyed it up a bit as i had already painted it but when engine was gettin fitted it got scratched and over spray from primer all over . sorted it now though

very long time since last up date but here we go .
car is nere enough complete after 6 long years on and off
just had engine rebuilt and a bit of head work ported and skimmed / piper cams and venier pulleys , solid lifters . also just bought another set of tear drop alloys (astra gte) just need to paint them and fit wrap round sr spoiler and thats pritty much it.

got shot mate and coverd the floor with a carpet for now i did a bit of welding on the floor and the plates stud out so coverd them for now got carbon foot plates in aswell now so looks a bit better i did put a post in mechanical about the floor as im not happy with it any way its booked in with a lad i know who dose space frames so getting the chassis and inner sills removed and a proper box frame made with alloy floor i know its a bit of chew as the car is nearly done but im not happy and i will never be selling the car so why not have a proper frame / floor made

Motor had fresh rebuild around 3 years ago but has not been used since .
So is going for another rebuild and head work over winter.

Aem methanol approved fuel pump and lines
Running methanol for cooling aswell as perfomance so i can chuck a few more hp of gas at it.

The Let with me a great uprate. You'll get your times down nicely.

No the rear works very well . I thought the same when i first fit them and was a bit sketchy first few runs but once i knew it didnt bounce about was fine . Car is 0.1 from a 12 sec and was hoping to get the xe into the 12s in october before i pull it out. Im sure sub 12s require a min of 25 mm travel though so will probs have to fit coilovers next year . Hopefully new spoiler will bring the ET up a couple of mph .
The let will hopefully make good power and handel alot more gas.

Anyone know if the omex ecu works as a nitrous controller aswell or does it just work with nitrous and still require a seprate controller .

The xe will also be forsale once removed so will be good to get a 12 secs pass in the bag just to show what its capable of.

Got the xe engine in that im using for mockup but ran out of mig wire gutted . Also had to order some gearbox mount spacers as i never used them last time but motor needs to go across about 15 mm to passangers side.

The body will need to be raised if anything pal to take the huge tyres .was only using 10x22 inch tyres before and struggled with 5 dr wings .
Going for drift arches i think with new wheels and chopping the wings

Heard alot about leaning motors forward when i was working for a rally shop years ago . What are the gains just been to get the bits today to build my mounts in the morning . Im using the aftermarket bushed mounts but in a diffrent way to how they are ment to be used . Pics to follow

No gain on a drag car with sensible ride height. Tipping it forward lifts the diff up so straightens the shaft angle. That's the only advantage i can think of on a racer but far from ideal without modifying other parts.

All works spot on . Ignore long bolts and stuff they are just for mocking up . Got all new cap head bolts for every thing so will all loog same.

Also just to help anyone else out in the future the drivers side engine mount bush normaly uses an m10 bolt throught it which is renound for the bolt head touching the chassis leg and vibtrating through the whole car . People usualy drill a hole in the leg or dent it to solve the problem . However if you use an m12 tap you can thread it all the way through and just use an m12 bolt (much more heavy duty) from the out side no need for the nut easyer to remove and no longer touches the leg . :thumb: as you can see mine has a piece off 12mm thread bar all the way through at the min

Thats the job for in the morning pal . Those hex female thread things on the sides are m10 so idea is to use some sort of 10-12mm stainless bar threaded at one end with locnut for adjustment then . Other end drill 2 holes for R clips one inside the wing and the other outside . Bar will pass through the wing and bumper . In theory

.this is what i have upto now the motor is going for a fresh build gaskets and seals ect and a check over basicaly just with it been stood .

Im going to be looking for around 550hp using omex 600 for managment .
And 875cc injectors

Any help on anything else i will need to acheive this figure would be great .

No mate using 10 fastners all the way round it and na i was going to weigh if before and after but couldnt find the scales amongst all the sh1t in the garage from doing the build .
Not sure our lass would find it funny if i used the baking ones lol.

The engine has been getting alot of work carred out .
Had the wossner pistons skimmed by 23 thou .
Crank reground
Lots of machine work done on the head .
New double valve springs as one of the inner springs had snapped on mine .
Hydraulic / staging brake fitted.

My exhaust with xe fitted was 2.5" but now i have a 3" version mate for the let motor . no problem routing it . i went under the tie bar last time but with the front legs gone now it has allowed me to go over the top of it.
And yes the shrink tubing is a great idea much better than black tape ect

No pal it has a tip sleeve thing that is removable that im going to make just so it looks tidy were it comes out of the bumper . And the exhaust its self is going to be wrapped even though it wont cause any heat to the tyres just to try and keep the bay temps down.

looks like an chinese /ebay cooler with 0 efficiëntie..

if you look at the ''bottom of the market'' quality intercoolers like treadstone, you will see that an 400hp core is much bigger than this :confused:

I could run this car with no cooler what so ever . This isnt a road car nor is it for going round and round with everything glowing red hot . Gets its nuts kicked in for 10 seconds and thats about it aslong as things are cool enough for the whole 1 minute the car is fired up for that will do I dont go into the technical sides of it.

Yes im sure it would work just the same .
You would need to adapt the cable bracket thats all as the holes wont be in the top of the gearbox but the gearbox bolt to engine one would still line up at the top of the bracket

there are f17 boxes with cableshift, will fit your f13 geabox w/o mods

This is of an f17 1.8 vectra c . As I say though the bracket has 2 holes for bolts that some f13 dont have so a small adapter would need making thats all.

Much better . So I have been getting on with loads on the car but nothing worth posting . Now time to start wiring everything in though so soon hopefully will be able to fire it up for the first time. Didnt realise I had to remove the locking plate off the front of the plug . Spent an hour trying to get even one of the auxillary loom pins in . Ecu holder I have made to fit omex
And a new compbrake header tank relocated to suit my new rear coolant pipe I hope to make . Also keeping the gearbox area clear ready for bigger turbo mounted above the box next year .

Yea its going mate its only on there to get the car up and running and a few run in runs . I have a new one in my van ready do cut up and have welded to an evo style after market big plenum . The standard inlet will only handle around 520hp before it starts to choke the motor.

Omex air temp sensor and map sensor arrived today along with the t bar boost clamps .

Also can anyone see any problems with coolent flow etc before I go ahead and get them. Made . You can sort of see how iv mocked it up . The side head hose will be a 90° straight off and down into the top of the alloy piping and the header hose will be as shown ??

Nud has been round today and worked his magic with some more of the loom looks a top job . Most of the plugs are on now only a couple of 2 pin ones I forgot to order.

After being unable to choose a pair of wheels I liked for the front . And then eventualy finding somthing that would have worked and looked spot on I was told that the company would only sell a set of 4 no good when I only need two even though there site had them listed seperatly . I decided to have a pair of 15" steels banded

New bonnet with bulge right back to the screen . Somthing along the lines of the black one . Cheers mate going to try and do the filler work and get it in paint tommorow.

Also had all my new teflon fuel lines made up 13mm id lines with large diameter -8 fittings . Should be plenty enough fuel flow now.
