hi,
i am going to do an oil change on mt gte this week, was wondering what oil i should go for, ie make and viscosity.

are there any good engine flushes to go for?

Engine flushes are not the best thing to put in a decent running engine, if it aint broke, dont fix it! Just drive the car hard for 20 mins on the existing oil (assuming its at the right level), get it hot and drain while all the cruddy bits are in suspension and the oil is less viscous.

Ye, you cant go wrong with Gm Semi Synth, thats what i always use.

cheers guys. is that everyone's opinion on engine flush as well? how much is a container of oil from vaux?

10/40w semi synth GM oil was ?8 for 5L last time i bought some.

Dont bother with engine flush.

If you want to "flush" it, drain out the old oil, refill with some 20/50(supermarket oil), use that for about 5mile or so making sure the engine/oil got nice and hot.
Then drain that out.

Change the filter, and refill with some decent oil.
