Right, i've been told that my 1.0 will not cope with having a 5 speed gear box fitted, is this correct???

Don't do it !!!
I had an old C reg 1.2 which i put a 5 speed box on & it totally killed it !
Stick with 4 speed !

strange that, i fitted a F13 Cr (5 speed) to my 1.2 and it slated a std 1.2 :roll:

I say go for it. I cant see how it'd Kill an Engine, the only thing it would do is cause the engine to struggle in 5th, in which case you either speed up or chuck back to 4th. Anyway, you said you're gonna change the engine soon so **** it, why not?

it wont fit tracie the 1.0 uses a different housing to the other engines , the bolt holes are smaller and in different places , so they dont actually line up ,
