Did you get the carbs checked/setup, i seem to remember the carbs killing the engine last time.

So whats up?
You cant expect technical answers, when your description is it went 'bang'
Hence why it has been spammed.
exactly. put some PROPER information on and type properly :p
eg, what were you doing when it went bang (eg full throttle/which gear etc)
was the engine hot/cold
was it hot weather
engine speed and so on.
smoke from "under the bonnet" WTF appart from setting fire to something or throwing a rod, all the smoke would come out of the exhaust pipe.
and back pressure has FECK all to do with your problems but i guess you like using that term so meh

Did you run the engine in and for how many miles?
did you have it set up on a rolling road before running it in?
