View Full Version : What socket for Star shaped headbolts
As above, new engine has weird star shaped headbolts, all my others have head 17mm standard type bolts.
What is the socket called that undoes the star ones? And what size, so i can just buy the one i need and not a whole set,Lol.
Do you mean like an allen headded bolt but with a star insert as opposed to a hex? If so then it'll be a Torx of some size, if not then I haven't a clue.
You should get away with a nrmal Hex head socket but it may make ****e of the bolt. Any good hardware store should have the right ones and individually as well. Failing that, try your local Market or something like Argos for a Mega Super Duper crap but cheap set.

its ether T50 or T60
No, they're internal torx 12 or 14, they're the new type vauxhall bolts, which get renewed everytime a head is removed.
Ask for either e12 or e14
I'll have a look on good ole ebay,Lol.
Cheers
it either e12 or e 13 i am 90 % sure
