Rally slags?

I randomly bought a mini mag today and kind of got me thinking into buying a mini, then i thought it would be a bit expensive, so then i thought about buying a shell, but then i decided minis were slow and have poor engines, so instead i came to the decision to maybe think about building a rear engined mini, then again finding cost's being a bit much anyway cus a long story short what other rally classics and old school cars would be still out there somewhere, like hillman imps -what ever happened to those:confused:

So basically looking for oldschool rally slags - any ideas??????

essentially all the "old skool" stuff will be dog slow compared to current issue cars due to the piss poor engineering from those days wrt engines and air flow etc.

There was one on ebay i was looking at think it was only 122 quid so far, but yeh i seen complete projects go for 20 grand, so i dont think thats on the list really! How ever the sunbeam on the other hand.....

mk1 fiestas are also cool, but i think rwd is best.... what about the bmw 3 series?

i think iv only ever seen one sunbeam being driven around, then i seen 2 in a scrapyard in devon along with mk1 fiestas, mk2 cavs and some bmws. it was wierd they where all at the back of the yard all by there own in like a small area was wicked

Mmmmm mk1 escorts, like my uncles Mk1 1600 mexico, only things that arent standard are air filter i think, buckets and cage.. been garaged since new except the 3000-4000 original engine miles that have been from moving house and making sure it still drives nicely.

Mint condition, wander how much thats worth.....

Will try get pics up if he lets me anywhere near it.

Also building a Mk1 escort that he stole from a field after it had been burnt out, havnt herd from him for while, so dont know how the slow progress has been going, since he moved house and is doin that up aswell as the new member to his family (horse) that came along with his GF a while back.

Decision made - Wide arch rally NOVA!:D

Now all i need is to finish my first one!

But what engine for a rally nova? Was thinking XE with TB's? BUT on the other hand C16SE with t40's???

Anyway be a month or 2 yet, i barely started this nova got all parts tho, like a scrapyard outside!
