why ? basically !!

what effect does this have on performance/realiability :wtf:

also, what about "lightened and balanced" ? what gains are to be had from this, and how much does it cost ?

you only lower the CR when FI (forced induction, turbo or super charging) as the cylinder pressures will be much higher thus no need for such geat CR.

lighetened and balanced means that the bottom end (rods, pistons, crank and flywheel) are made lighter (less stress on parts swinging less weight round) and the balancing makes it more relaible and rev happy. No power gain from this but it does make the power you have more available (ish)
