just managed to solve the problem why my car has been misfiring !
took the electric plug off the airflow meter and everything now seems fine.
am i ok to drive round for a few days without the plug on until i get chance to get a new one ?

Theres your problem then no doubt.
Air flow meter playing up.

It should be ok, ecu should turn to a base map. Probably run quite rich and engine management light will be on.
