yo lads, right just got my nova and ive been looking into installing a system, not sure on the head unit yet but i definatly think 2 10" VIBE blackair 2 subs are goin in the boot, with a suitable enclosure possibly also VIBE, i dont know wether to stick to one manufacturer or mix it up abit, in the front im going to replace the existing componants with FLi ones, and mayb fit some lager companants into the front doors with 6x9s in the rear (not sure what 6x9s) i like the idea of having a couple of monobox amps but that just doubles the price of my system straight out!! i was just wondering what systems everybody else had and any problems theyv had etc?

Avoid 6x9s like the plague in my opinion. They sound awful & are quite bassy given there size. If you are running subwoofers then there just isnt any need for 6x9s.*
Some of the loudest systems only have 3 speakers. Its all about matching them to each other. ie 4" in the doors wont sound much kop with a 12" sub, but 4's do go well with 8" subs (my set up).
Simplify your components 1 big amp & 3 large speakers will be much better sounding & far less of a nightmare to wire & set up than 3 amps & 8 speakers. Nova's dont lend themselves particularly well to wiring & system design anyway. Dynamat or sound deadening also works well, enabling the system to be cranked a bit higher before you get panel flap (distortion).

* 6x9's are great when used as a sole speaker from a headunit or a low-medium power amp. They provide the highest volume/sensitivity per watt. however as far as sound quality is concerned. They are DIRT!

Yep. I would advise some components up front driven off a good sounding amp & a sub that will match them for sound. Both driven off the same dirty great (quality) amp should reap the best sound & simplicity for wiring.

Plenty of dynamat & well adjusted crossovers should see it perfect. If you need rear fill. Then some small rear speakers faded out will help with rear passengers or surround(y) sound.

vibe subs sound best in the manufactured boxes unless you really take the time to build an enclosure spot on and to the proper specifics.

stick with component kits and tweeters. u dont need no nancy fancy amps for them, just a cheap 200w 4 way would be sufficient,

think about a uprated battery too. :D

IF you want a quality sub go for a good make ie: DB Audio, Diamond, Kicker l7, JL Audio you will only need one sub if you get a good one.

I also agree that 6 by 9s with a sub present is a no go get 2 sets of components instead.

I have:

1 set of 6.5 round vibe kevlar components in the rear

1 set of 5.25 round vibe kevlar components in the front

DB audio 12" T-Rex, 600wrms dual voice coil sub

1 lanzar 1800d to run the sub

One large orion amp to run the components

And a Alpine headunit

Didnt cost the earth to set up but sounds the buisness with all types of music.

Summing up if I was you I would get a good headunit with a sub out and 2 sets of rcas, 1 good sub and 2 sets of components.

depends on what music you tend to listen too the most

Dance 10" sub
R&B 12"

in my old nova i had:

6.5 Focal polykevlar components
2 x 10"Focal utopia sub woofers (one switched for competition use only and only used one for sound quality purpose)
genesis minimono block amp
genesis compact 4 channel amp

won several trophies with this set up and finished 2nd in the street class iasca league
