View Full Version : Gearbox removal, need to pull input shaft?

As above.
Haynes etc says you have to remove the shaft, but other sources(Baxter lol) have said that it'll be fine without it removed.

Any info?
As if i've got to remove it, i've also got a buy a 36mm socket and a splined key,Lol.

Current box is F10, fitting a f15cr.

unbolt it,
pull it off,
simple,never touched the shaft in mine...

never touched it in mine neither ad

just support engine , undo all bolts and drop the 2 mounts and pull the ****er out lol

Removing the input shaft means it will litterally just drop out with minimal 'wiggling' - however on the small block theres enough room for lots of 'wiggle' so theres no need to remove it.

I'll give it a go sometime, maybe when the heat outside isn't 35+ deg, lol.
