Rev limiter

Should ther be one on my 89 GTE?
Cause i REALLY wanted to beat this Volvo turbo thingy. My poor car had a damn good thrashingand the rev counter was showing off the clock in 1'st and 2'nd, it didnt hit a limiter. Should this be happening?

Oh, i dont usually thrash my car like that.. i REALLY had to get in front of him though, just one of those things! ;)

If it doesn't then all the better I guess unless ur really bad at changing gear when u need to!!

my GTE had a rev limiter, the engine last 3 years of my stick then went bang though.

I did manage to get infront of the volvo, no stripes or lights!! But the only way i got infront of it was by my crazy friving, and pure disregard for other road users. That thing was FAST!
