I think the 1.4sr came with central locking, alloys and other little bits whereas the 1.3 didn't. so 1.4 is prob better would be newer as well so less likely to be knackered

no andrew mk1 1.4sr and mk21.4sr he said! my mk1 sr has central locking and alloys, the differencs are facelift, spoiler and interior (dash and trim) mk2 is more likely to be in better condition but the mk1's are cheaper.

ALL SR's, from 1987 has central locking as standard - they where 1.3's

The MKII SRi is rated with a slower 0-60 time, so I'd go for a MKI

The Alloys where ALWAYS an OPTIONAL EXTRA, so no difference there.

The MKII interior is miles better though - nice bright Red/grey or blue/grey, with matching door trims.

Older SR's have Brown/Yellow (Daytona Check), then from 86 they had Grey Plaid (like Tartan), and from late 87, they the Merit trim down the centres of the seat, with grey velour down the edges. All MKI's had plane vinyl door trims!

all mk2 sr had 14" wheels either black steels or alloys (steels 165, alloys 175), cl, ew,
and were only done in 4 colours
black, red = red trim inside
white, blue = blue trim inside
fit and build on the mk2s is much better and youy can pick up mk2 sr for ?750+ there is a mk2 sr for ?750 on autotrader

Rob.......The figures in magazines must be wrong then.

The old SR is rated at 0-60 in 11.8 seconds and top speed 102
Newer SRi is rated at 0-60 in 14.5 seconds and top speed 96!!.........but I can see where they've got it wrong (Max Power)

They've given the power of the SRi at 60 BHP!!!!! That's true for the Multitec central fuel injection models (C 14 NZ), but the Multi-point fuel injection models (C 14 SE) have 82 bhp!

Sorry...I'd not noticed that.

So, what's the official 0-60 time for the SRi multi-point injected model.
Did they ever do a single-point injection SRi? (60 bhp)

I think the SRi is booked @ 10.2 seconds to 60 mph
