View Full Version : MOT questions
mot's tommorow on the nova.....
just wondered, does it have to have interior door handles? and my side repeaters are smoked are these legal or should i refit the orange ones if i can find mine? and last but not least my mileage counter has packed up on the digi dash, now it reads more than it did last mot but doesnt move now, would they notice and fail it on this or would it be ok?
Interior handles are, i beleive, a must. As its the means to close and secure the door.
Although the trip meter? They'll only notice if they drive it :thumb:
Re fit the orange repeaters for peace of mind, it might be the silly reason for your car failing!
hmmm carnt find them. mike u got any i can borrow??

you must have interior door handles, side repeaters can be any colour aslong as they flash orange and you dont need the milage counter to work either
cheers
cheers mate, ive got orange repeaters now and borrowed a hazard switch of last of the nova's as mine decided to die just.
ok another question, need a quick reply if possible.......

As long as the ones on the outside work you should be ok.
Rich
yeh they do, cheers guys. got to get up at 6am and change my wheels, indicator lenses, secure my bucket seat properly. and check my fluids etc, should be fun
the indicator lights on my dash do not work, will this be ok???
No, thats a fail iirc.
If you have a digidash, rip it out tomorrow, find the black/white,black/green wires, remove the steering shroud, find the same coloured wires off the indicator stalk and join them.
You cant use the indicator wire in the nova clock loom.
hmmm bugger, may have to get up earlier then and have a mess.
so bassically you mean to run the wires from the stalks straight to the dash for them to work? as theyve never worked on my digi dash
Yep, you cant use the nova clock indicator wire, as its a single wire to flash one <-> light, whereas digidash has <- ->, two seperate lights.
The wires can be found at the indicator stalk, just strip a bit of insulation off, solder the digidash wires on, sorted. Mine work fine.
busy tommorow about 6am ish lol ;), any idea what colour the wire is??
One direction is black/green, the other is black/white.
Just join colour for colour to the stalk wires.
mate your a legend, will have a play in the morning.
another job for the list

Nath-If your standard switch is broke(who's isn't?, lol) then just take it apart and make it unbreakable. ;)

ps - as long as the indicators clearly glow orange there is no need to worry if they are tinted in anyway.
well car passed the mot. all ive had to do is change the rear wheel bearing which has took me all of 15 minutes. and fix my numberplate light. inspector said it was the mintest nova hes ever seen. :)
