do what you want with it, its a learning curve, when i was your age i was given a F reg VW polo by my parents and i was trying to fix that thing up, just watch that things don't build up, do one thing at a time and it'll get there.

Dave.
15-07-06, 09:47 PM
thanks mike
its something for me and my dad to work on
like a father and son thing
what happened to your polo

i did some good work on it i debadged and delocked the tailgate, primed and painted it stripped it out, but as i said things got a bit on top of me and i had to get rid, lack of funds, because i was at school

Come on lads dont be tight... lol

I say good on ya lad, get the spanners out and do some proper work on it. What these lot are trying to say is... Dont buy tat for your car. Instead, go to a scrappers find a Higer spec model and basically rape it for bits that you think will look better than the standard stuff.

Yeah even if its not that nice looking like the old rainbow sr mk1 seats,at least it will look better then the covers dude, but fair play to you,as you must be young by the look of the pics, and i didnt even have a car till i was 19.

i think you should:
-loose the seat covers (stains are no wear near as bad)
-loose that 'redline sticker
-get some clear side repeaters
-get some sr seats and bumpers
-lower 40mm

it might sound alot to you but you have got a long wile until you can drive so over time it wont cost you that much. but the most important thing is try and spend your time and money on the structual work. whats the battery tray like?

Keep at it matey, bear in my mind novas are seen as old skool chav mobiles, so try not to over do it with the "stick-on" stuff.

Browse the galleries, go thru "RJM's old-skool nova" thread for pics & look around for inspiration.

As for the rest of you lot, don't pick on him, he may just be a 13 year old boy, but he could grow up to be owner of the quickest nova in history one day !!!

I'm liking your attitude.

Stick with what you want to do with the car and don't let anyone talk you into doing something you don't like.
Your lucky that you have a car to work on at such a young age.
Just think when you pass your test you'll more than likely have a completed car when all your mates are either driving their parents or some cheap banger.

As for the welding.... do as much as you can.. it's a valuable skill to pick up.. one which I don't have :)
