It doesn't have a fuel return.
Just block it off.

NO. Dont block it off, T the return into the feed line before the carb.

It wont run properly else.

mine runs fine with a bolt stuck in the end of the return hose, if you connect it via a t piece, half the petrol getting pumped to the carb will go straight back to the tank.

a weber 32/34 does NOT have a return pipe

it is an overflow pipe which runs out the back of the carb - just block it off? or runit to the ground so that if anything does comeo ut it wont go onto a hot exhaust e,.t.c?

I second this T piece is a waste of time get a fuel regulator between the pump and carb and set it to 3.5 bar is best imao:thumb:

Shane I had two 32/34s at one point and as far as I am aware some have three pipes emerging from them and some two, verified by this difference between my two.

You have the "fuel in" pipe that should be simple to find as its by the big brass bolt that houses the fuel filter (check/clean/replace this filter)

Then there is the vacuum pipe which connects to the vacuum advance (the thin tube) and this is the pipe at the front (when carb is fitted)

Third pipe at the back (if you have it) can be blocked off with a bit of hose with a bolt in. These carbs are originally for Land rovers and so that pipe would probably have been for something on a Landy.

The smaller of your two fuel hoses (the return) can be blocked off with another bolt as once you set up the correct amount of fuel going in (using a regulator) it does have or need an overflow pipe for fuel.

Hope this answers your question. If you still have probs give us some more details an maybe a picture.

You dont need that regulator nonsense if you just 'T' the return into the feedline somewhere before the carb.

I got this advice from Bernie @ Novatech some years back.

Craig I have already been through this on a tread when I was fitting mine. I tried it before a regulator. The car barely starts and runs sh!t with a T piece as the pump just sends it all back to the tank via the T'ed hose.

both that one and one of the same size at the front are vacumm take-offs, run one of them to the advance unit on the dizzy and blank the other one off with a small bolt.

theres two of them at the front which i have blocked off i thought they were for the vacuum?

Do you mean you have 4 pipes in total?

Either way, block the back one off (the one in question) with a bolt.

Unblock the other two at the front and start the car. (it will idle fine without the vacuum connected if your setup is right.

With the car running give it a little rev from the engine bay so you can feel the two on the front with your finger. Connect the vacuum advance hose to the one that sucks on your finger the most and block the other. If they suck evenly pick either and block the other.
