Ok guys is there any difference in the port shapes on a gte or a gsi? i bough a top end gasket set today for my gsi, i took the inlet off, the gasket that was on it was round holes, but on this new gasket its almost square ports.

The exhaust one is fine to

The wrapper says its for a e16se, x16sz,c16nz

Square port is c16nz. So you must have been given a square port head gasket set. All exhaust gaskets are the same ports.
Gsi is the same port type inlet, as is sri.

You need a round port inlet gasket, perhaps a c14se/c16se one will fit? But im not sure it would have the hole for the EGR valve(on a 1.6 gte) in the gasket.
Dont think c14/16se has a egr valve.

know it's an old thread but i got the same problem
got a Payen gasket set for engine codes
e16se , x16sz , c16nz

a'll the gaskets fit (seem to fit) apart from inlet
it has square ports rather than round
can swap em but is that a mistake by the company??

No its not a mistake, a c16nz has a square port inlet.

Normally you get both round and square inlet gaskets.

one 1600 head has square ports the others (mpi ones) have round ports. it was GM's way of being gits
