View Full Version : New Guy(56k warning)
Alright guys im new, so dont be too rough with me;)
Any ways ive got a 1990 Nova SR 1.4 with a genuine 23K on it :D
Ive already put a full system(from original downpipe), and a bolt on filter on her!
Ive upgraded the brakes from the stock units to 16v units off an astra GTE :thumb:
And changed the alloys for some cavvy gsi's!
Next im planning on gettin a 4branch manifold(any good places for these?) and gettin it lowered -40mm on full suspension
Any ways here some pics of my little SR :thumb:

She's blue :p. Looks to be in really nice condition, funny how those cav gsi rims look like nova ones though :p.
Have a look at the paint code on the VIN plate, and cross reference it to razorjacks paint colour guide.
I've heard good things about the ashley manifolds on here.
haha cheers guys:thumb: there the pics i took when i first got her need to get some more once i get her on the road in a few weeks:D i cant wait, i feel sorry for her when i look at her on the driveway sat there!! ill have a look at the vin plate later in the week and see :thumb:

mmmmmmmmmm lazer blue - 2nd best colour for a nova ;) :p
Defo go for white indicators and side repeaters (not ovals!! ;) )
Ex GB sticker should come off with a hairdryer and some tcut to remove the stick ;)

go for G3 stuff instead, thatl do the trick. not a fan of tcut to be honest.
mind you, my novas red which needs constant polishing to stay red so i do it less often with G3.
and keep the orange indicators!! keep it original!:thumb:

G3 is a heavy cutting compund used for flatting and defadding - its wasted on a few remnants of stickers. Unless ur paint needs cutting back then tbh, a decent polish or sum hot soapwater will remove most things. No need to take off layers of good paint pointlessly.
IIRC they reckon you can safely cut a car heavily 3-5 times before u risk going down to primer. If ur not careful - 1 heavy application can do it. When debadging my flame pink sri i wanted to loose the outlines left so i went mad with G3 - and on the edge of my numberplate recess i got down to primer - not clever!
Cheers for the comments guys :thumb:
Aye i was worried about that old GB sticker, i dont know how long its been on there for, looks like most of its life haha! but ill get it off some way or another!!
The orange indicators have grown on me and im not too sure if it will look right with the clear lenses on there??
I will get some up-to-date pics as soon as i get it on the road, just have to sell the other car first haha!!
Spud you get your **** down here and come look at the old little girl!!and while your at it buy my old SRi off me :D hehehe
Sam.

I cant see how any1 can argue that a 90s freshen up of white indicators and bodycolour mirrors wont make this car look even more sexy.
Loose the red stripes and drop it 40mm too ;)

for the love of GOD man dont do it! dont do anything that cannot be reversed. novas like that dont come along very often.keep her mint and standard and take her to shows. my b reg sr gets attention every time i take her out of the garage.. and she has 58k now and i would say your motor is nicer than mine.

haha i tried to line the exhasut tip up, but it wouldnt sit right.ill have a crack again later!!lol

I wouldnt bother trying! looks like its a MK2 exhaust/backbox so it will never line up without cutting and welding! just keep an eye out for a mk1 back box.

I aint going to do anything stupid to it as i know how hard it is to come across them like this!!only doing mild subtle bits to the bodywork, and hopefully get some twin forties on her in the future!!

Usually MK1 pipes would exit at an angle, its either a mk2 one, or a badly damaged, or badly made mk1 item. lol

Lol maybe its just not made up right. its a peco system and i had to wait for it to be made up so maybe it aint made correctly!!ill get a different system soon because it aint stainless steel!!
