195 50 15s for cheapness, if you are feeling flush you should go for 195 45 50s (or if your car is slammed on its ****). www.mytyres.co.uk (http://www.mytyres.co.uk) to check out different brands. I assume your rims are at least 6 inches wide?

Best bet if they rub is 185/55/15"s

have your arches been rolled? what offset are your wheels etc. all this could be the cause of your scrubbing?

Why do that when the sidewalls on 195 45s are only 87.75mm compared to a 101.75 mm sidewall on a 185 55s? Even 195 50s have a thinner sidewall (97.5mm) and the 195 fitment tyres are much cheaper. the extra width shouldn't be an issue, unless the offset is wrong or the car is dropped.

195/45/15 i use.
No rubbing at all.

I've heard 195/50/15 rub the front and rear arches.

because the 185's are narrower so wont scuff (as bad)

Its normally width that they scrub on and not depth.

my old 1.4 had 195/50/15s and that scrubbed front and back even after having them rolled, now ive got 195/45/16s on Softstars and they do not scrub at all even under hard cornering
