Ive just brought a K&N induction kit and a Full Magnex exhaust system for my Gsi (Early model with GTE L-Jetronic engine no cat) Does any one know what sort of power figure i can expect cheers. Also is it essential that I fit an uprated fuel pressure regulator valve, ie will it make much difference to the power output.

You might have to get it rolling roaded to see if it is running lean due to the extra air getting in to the engine, if it is you could use a new pressure regulator to increase the pressure in the fuel rail, then when the injectors open they will squirt more fuel(for the same opening time) to go with the extra air giving you the correct mixture and more power.

I've got a K&N 57i, full magnex exhaust and manifold and a power boost valve, I don't know the power yet, but hopefully I will find out at the rolling road day on saturday!! can't wait!! :)

What you will find is that the fuel rate does not pick up quick enough to cope with the sudden ruch of air, causing hesitation at low revs. When I fitted the boost valve, it got rid of this, but only when set up properly.

is there a carb equivalent to the power boost valve?

I don`t think its a good idea upping the carb feed pressure as the fuel level is only controled by a float and needle; too much pressure will just push the needle out of the way and flood the carb!!!
