1.0 12v corsa engine.

Has anyone tried to play with a 3 cyl 1.0 corsa lump?
I guess they are simply a 3 cyl version of a 4 cyl ecotec engine.

My reasoning is this:-

A 1.4 or1.6 ecotec can be tuned to give 100hp/litre without too many mods.
If the 3 cyl is basically the same, then it would give 100hp & be much smaller & lighter helping handling, and still give cheap insurance & road tax.

Your thoughts please.

probably VERY expensive to mod by comparrison though as its not as simple as getting a 4 cyl cam and lopping the ends off lol.

plus as its 3 cyl i dont think its going to be that smooth at higher rpm that youd need to get the 100bhp/litre

because as he said at the start. 100bhp per litre is "easy" from the 1.4/1.6 variants therefore the 1.0 being 3 cylinders etc would be lighter blah blah...

i guess if you were limited to the super 100 class then its a sensible approach lol
