A few days ago I bought these (http://www.xen0phobiak.f2s.com/1sec.jpg) and this (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4481.html).

As you can see, I'm on a budget :). The 6x9's are in the parcel shelf, and the dash speakers are still connected, after some playing around I've set the fader to bias the volume about 2/3 to the back, and this had me thinking. 1) I want some new dash speakers, and 2) I want a small sub.

On paper, these (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4698.html) seem as good as any of the other sub ?25 pairs of 10cm speakers, but I'm clueless when it comes to subs. I want something that is preferably cheap, small and gives out fairly crisp bass, I'm not interested in feeling the bass through the resonation of my ribcage :). What does everyone reccomend?

The headunit has a pair of phonos on the back that are switchable between output to a rear amp, or to a sub, so I assume I'm going to need an amp, which one should I buy, and where should I draw power for it from? Is it ok to mount it under the passenger seat?

EDIT: I've noticed that caraudiosecurity do sub+amp+cable deals (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product_list/c_path/60_98_170/spd/single-10-sub-amp-deal.html), is there any real difference between the sub ?110 packages, or should I look on ebay for specific items instead?

Thanks in advance guys.

you could purchase it all separately and it might become cheaper in the end depends on what you want but what is in them packages is what i would recommend looking for.

there is not much difference in them packages aroun 110 except for the power ratng on the kenwood amp and the jbl amp, but personally i would buy the full jbl setup as jbl amp and sub go better, i had a 15inch jbl sub and jbl amp, sounded pretty good, low power but still good, then change my amp for a pioneer and it didnt sound the same.,

yes u need an amp from the rca plugs off the back off your headunit, and you power it from the blue rmeote wire on your headunit and the red cable in the wire kit from your battery, and obviously the black is your earth.

there are loadsa sites that tell you how to wire up sub and amps but if you get stuck give me a shout and i will send you a copy of the step by step guide we were given at work from alpine! cheesey and easy it is! lol

Before you buy philly, give www.audio66.co.uk (http://www.audio66.co.uk) a ring and check their prices out.

Personaly I like some of the active units. designed to work together at their best. Can be easier to lump in aswell.
