i need to replace the intake pipe on my nova gte, the one that goes from the air mass meter to the throttle body (mine has holes). ordered one from vauxhall, was only ?18, felt quite chuffed  arrived today, but it isnt the right one...

it does have the hose attachment mounted into it near the throttle body end. gave them the part number off my hose thats on the car, and apparently they dont make it anymore!?!

what is the tube that goes onto this used for? does it need a vacuum or can i fit a breather filter on it? or does anyone know where i can actually get a new one of these intake tubes from? or does anyone have a really good condition one, that their willing to part with? :thumb:

please help, had the car tuned but not successfully because of this pipe, its running like a bag of poo at the mo.

cheers guys

chris

Did your dealer do a dcs dealer search for you?? Somebody somewhere must have one of these on their shelves? I managed to find a deleted 1.0 washer bottle using dcs, in scotland. Is it the same as the c14se? if so these hoses are stilll available.

if the pipes are the same, the part numbers are going to be the same... the part number of the pipe i need is 90298947, and the part number of the part which they ordered in thinking it was right was 90410785.

on the computer, the part came up as "nls", there was no talk of a "dcs" search!?!

I bought one from the local dealer about a year ago, it had to come from spain & took about a week. Maybe the stock has dried up. I have repaired rubber stuff before using the black windscreen bonding stuff. It needs treating with caution (wear gloves)

ok ok :( just that the people that tuned my car tuned it rich to allow for the leak and now its running way too rich, costing way too much to run! have tried sealing it with silicone sealer. still leaks tho

had a thought... fitted the new (wrong) pipe that i ordered from vauxhall, it doesn't have the junction fitted into it, but can i fit a breather filter to the pipe that should connect to the intake pipe? heres a pic of the new pipe and at the back is the pipe.

this is a pic of the old pipe with the connection moulded into it

The stuff for bonding windscreens is NOT silicone, it is a rubber based compound. I have bonded all sorts of rubber components together with it.
Might be worth a try. running without a servo is not a good idea.
I know there will be people replying that so & so's rally/track day one hasn't got one etc..... But I mean for every day road use.

the servo vacuum pipe comes off the plenum, this one splits into two and goes off...

don't suppose yu know what rubber sealant/adhesive you used?
