Dont have my haynes manual here but it showed a pic of something bolted to the drive shaft which was called something like a torsional damper. More or less like a weight, anyone know what this is for as I removed it as it was touching something on my xe engine or exhaust, cant remember now.

A weight on the drive shaft to make them weigh the same to reduce torque steer?

except its on the long shaft, making it weigh much more than the short shaft...

A torsional damper is fitted to the longer right-hand driveshaft to overcome torque reaction during acceleration.

As the riggmaster says above!!

I never noticed a difference when i removered mine when my car had the standard GTE engine!!
