Im not being sexist but thats proberly because your a woman. lol . my girlfreind has the same 1st car as i had and it costs ?590 for the 1st year. i had 1 years no claims carried over from a moped and it cost ?970 and that was with ?300 discout for the no claims lol

Apparently women's insurance is cheaper because although they have more crashes, when they claim it tends to be for car park dings, reversing into lamp posts etc - low value repairs. When blokes crash it tends to be cartwheeling into a hedge at high speed through a line of parked up gold plated Saleens or suchlike. Chap on the phone from HIC once said to me one bloke managed to crash his S13 into a classic car garage and caused something like ?1 million of damage!

But yeah. Alex's insurance on her 1.0 Polo is something like ?450, thats with a Provisional license! And it would only add ?200 to my policy to get her put on the Celica - but thats not happening lol
