View Full Version : Twin 40 Problem HELP ME PLEASE!!
I am currenly in the middle of changing my 1.2 injection to a twin 40 set up but the only problem quite a big 1 is the alternator seems 2 be in the way!! has any body else done this change b4 n if so how do i over come it after that i will hopefully b pushing 100bhp as i've decatted it and put a piper camshaft in!! and yes i also have a 4 to 1 mainerfold for sale open 2 offers thanks mark
u need an alternator lowering bracket
you also need to use the RIGHT forum!!!!! FFS
On the more technical side.
I hope/assume youve at the very least replaced the 1.2i head with a 1.2/1.3 item... if not then a much better 1.4/1.6 MPI head.
As for the alternator. look on www.tuning.co.uk for the alternator lowering braket, then you need the longer adjuster which i belive came off a 2.0 8V engine. you also need a longer alt belt.
again as for your 100bhp hopes.... hmmmm depends on the head, cam and setup but ill be impressed if my engine gets 100bhp and thats a 1200 with 1.6 valves cut into the head with porting to suit, Uber high Compresison ratio, 303degree solid profile cam, T40's and the 1400 ign setup... id guess youll do about 85-90 on an accurate dyno (again depending on the head)
where can i get 1 from then??
and yes i also have a 4 to 1 mainerfold for sale open 2 offers thanks mark
