would depend on what size engine though wouldnt it?

Is this something to do with our little conversation about C16XE amd X16XE engine's on MSN baxter??? lol

Ye, as above.
Heard that TB's aren't much good on 8v's.

CARBS-
Advantages:-
*Noise
*Cheaper than TB's
*No wires
*Easily re-tuned for if you upgrade cams etc
*Can be fitted to any engine

Disadvantages:-
*Not as efficient as TB's, as there just mechanical parts, no electronic control
*Some people find them hard to live with on a everyday car, when in winter weather etc(so i've heard anyway)

THROTTLE BODIES-
Advantages:-
*Sound great
*Reliable/Efficient as standard MPI injection
*Can be accurately mapped as controlled by electronics
*Can be fitted to another engine

Disadvantages:-
*Cost of them, and ECU etc.
*Cost of mapping
*Need to be wired up, not everyone is comfortable fitting wiring looms

I think thats a few advantages/disadvantages of both. :)

as i understand it, carbs are very good, but TB's are even better because if the fuel consumsion- maybe, and increased torque over carbs, normally i'd say more reliable, but after talking to Dan, forties seem just as reliable.

TB's will nudge the power band up a little too high on an 8V engine as the gas speed is usually a lot slower than on a 16V thus making the TB's not much use on a 8v

And its easier to move carbs from car to car then throttle bodies! :thumb:
